Overview
The Roxbury Historic District was established in 1966 to ensure the preservation of our Town Center, which is described by the National Register of Historic Places as a well-preserved example of a nineteenth-century agrarian village. The Commission serves to protect the character and integrity of the historic homes and outbuildings, together with places of historic interest in the district, ensuring the rural character of Roxbury. The HDC promotes preservation educational initiatives and is available to all property owners to consult on a variety of issues regarding the restoration and maintenance of historic buildings.
