Towns and cities throughout Connecticut are under tremendous financial pressures. Local needs for services and programs are continually increasing, as are the number of state and federally mandated programs that municipalities must implement. All taxpayers want efficient local management, excellent schools, well-maintained infrastructure and dependable services such as Fire and EMS. People want their taxes to be affordable.
We are continually trying to stay ahead of the curve and improve governmental operations while remaining fiscally responsible. I would like to express my appreciation to the Board of Finance and my two colleagues on the Board of Selectmen, Russell Dirienzo and Jim Conway, for their assistance provided to me and for their valuable service to our Town.
