Roxbury is a small, rural town on the southern border of Litchfield County, Connecticut. It has a rich history that includes farming, mining, architecture, and the arts. Its past and present residents have varied and interesting stories.
For present and future generations, the Roxbury Museum Board of Trustees, established in 1960, seeks to gather, organize, catalog, display, and protect the oral and written history, the real properties, and the selected artifacts and ephemeral of interest from our town. The Commission will, in an ongoing manner, build and update systems and procedures for the selection and maintenance and deaccessioning of the items listed using the best possible and affordable historical techniques.
In harmony with this stated mission, the Commission will promote interest in the preservation of Roxbury's history through both financial and educational efforts for the benefit of all.
