Town Budget Update FY 2008-2009 The Annual Town & Budget Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20th at 7:30 p.m. in Town Hall, after which the Board of Finance will meet to set the mill rate. The Board of Finance has finalized the town's 2008-2009 fiscal year budget. The Town's municipal budget is $3,323,500, a 3.61 percent increase over last year. The Town's share of the Region 12 School District budget is $6,119,010, which equates to a 5.76 percent increase to the Town. The School budget is 65% of the Town's total budget. The combined Town and School total budget for Roxbury equals $9,442,510 which is a 4.99 percent increase over last year. Three major capital projects have been budgeted, which together are over $1 million. The three projects are Judds Bridge Rehabilitation, which the Town received a $445,000 STEAP grant to help offset the cost the approximate $520,000 cost; Minor Bridge Rehabilitation, which the Town received a $250,000 STEAP grant last year to offset the cost approximate $500,000 cost; and Squire Road which will be paid entirely with municipal funds that were previously budgeted, along with a Municipal Lease Agreement.
