IMPORTANT NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC
Roxbury Probate Court closed on January 4, 2011 and all court matters were transferred to the new regional court for handling. This consolidated court is handled by Judge Domenick N. Calabrese, who took office on January 5th, 2011.
Probate Courts have jurisdiction over the following matters:
- probating of wills and the administration of decedent's estates
- administration of testamentary trusts
- administration of living trusts (limited jurisdiction)
- guardianship of the mentally retarded
- guardianship of the person of minor children
- guardianship of the estate of minor children
- termination of parental rights
- finalization of adoptions
- conservatorship of the person and/or estate of incapable adults
- granting name changes
- psychiatric commitment of children and adults
- drug and alcohol commitment of adults
- processing of passport applications.

The probate judge and staff will be happy to answer your procedural questions, but they are not allowed to give you specific legal advice.
