The responsibilities of the Assessor’s office are to discover, list and value all real estate, motor vehicles and personal property located within the Town of Roxbury and to administer Public Act 490, tax relief programs and exemptions. These responsibilities are done in accordance with Connecticut State Statutes, Rules and Regulations of the Office of Policy and Management for the State of Connecticut and local ordinances.
If you are responsible to file a Personal Property Declaration and have missed the deadline, please file to take advantage of the depreciation schedules that may offset the penalty that must, by State Statute, be applied.
The filing period for the Homeowners Benefit and the Additional Veteran’s Exemption begins February 1, 2013. The filing period for the Renters Rebate begins April 1, 2013. The income limits are $33,500 for single individuals and $40,900 combined income for married couples.
The filing period for classification of Farm, Forest or Open Space is September 1, 2013 through October 31, 2013. If applying for Forest Land classification, a Forester’s Report must be submitted by October 1, 2013.
The new assessments for all Real Estate in the Town of Roxbury for the 2012 Grand List are now available on Vision Government Solutions, Inc. - Assessor’s On-Line Database.
Do not apply the current tax (mill) rate to your new assessment. Doing so will result in an inaccurate calculation of future taxes. The new mill rate will be determined by the Town in the spring of 2013.
